2006 A3 key
Hello, I recently bought an Audi a3 2.0 bpy. It had a broken timing belt so we had the head rebuilt. After repairs the vehicle cranks and doesn't start. The timing is on point we have , crank signal, fuel, air and spark. Checked coding on all the modules and discovered there are no codes under the immobilizer module but the coding for the module comes up 0000000. I have only the valet key. Does the immobilizer need to be reset? Do I need to have a fob and have new keys programmed? I am new to the forum so please forgive if I am wrong in any etiquette. All the information I am getting from the car is coming through a Snap On Solus Edge. Any help is greatly appreciated, Jack.

Hi.
Doesn't sound like an immobilizer issue. If it was the car would start briefly then cut out. Additionally you mention it has fuel and a spark which rules out the engine speed sender also (crank sensor). On that basis I don't think the coding is stopping it from starting as from what you say you have all the requirements for it to start. If you definately have fuel, sparks, air etc, then the only thing I can think of that could stop it from starting is a faulty exhaust gas recirculation valve (egr). It has a pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold, loosen the 2 bolts on the egr valve end and blank the inlet off with something like a flat metallic scraper, re tighten the bolts and try starting it.
