2007 a3 3.2 dsg clunking into 1'st gear
First post. Love the car more and more after a couple weeks of ownership.
As I get more seat time I'm noticing a little clunk as the car downshifts into first at a stop. Doesn't seem tragic. However, I wanted to see if this was part simply of the deal, or if I should, at minimum, take it in for a fluid change.
Thanks in advance for any insights.
Best

I have an 06, owned it from new and I think it has done that since the day I picked it up. One of my biggest complaints with the DSG is that it is not smooth at slow speeds shifting between first and second and visa versa.

Thanks V. I'm really starting to love the car. Even at 100% stock, the handling, ride, and aesthetics are lovely. Looking forward to an intake system soon elevate all of the above.

My experience with DSG has been that shifting quickly when moving from a stop between Reverse and forward gears tends to make the transmission a little balky at low speeds, but otherwise it is amazing; put 4400 miles on my 06 over Thanksgiving break and saw zero problems with it.
