Default A3 1.8t sport strangeness

Hi All

Apologies if this has been mentioned anywhere else but I have a few issues with my latest purchase that are starting to stump me.

The car is a 2000 A3 1.8t sport FWD, it has had some very light mods, aftermarket recirc dump valve and cone air filter, but has also had a turbo upgrade and been remapped. On checking up on this car I have found a mention that the car has been mapped to 221.6hp and can confirm its very quick and quite possibly not far from those figures.

Now the strangeness, it had a hesitation which I put down to the MAF sensor which had been confirmed by VAG.com so it got replaced, it also had a faulty temp sensor which got changed from the black factory fitted one to the green superseded one, the thermostat was also faulty and got replaced and everything runs niceish. But the hesitation is still there and at times makes the car undriveable.

I'm out of ideas now, the coil packs appear fine and there's no miss firing, the coil pack amplifier (thingy that bolts to air box) is ok and I dont appear to have any leaks, the turbo boosts upto 1 bar at mid range revs and then slowly drops to the 0.75 mark when taking it upto 5.5k revs.

Is there anything i'm missing / overlooking as this is my daily and its slowly getting worse.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.
