Audi A3 8P 3dr door problem
Hello, I own an AUDI A3 8P 3DR 2007.
I have a problem with the doors of my AUDI A3. One week ago, when using the fob to unlock the car, the driver's door wouldn't open from the outside handle (but did open from the inside handle). I tried to unlock the doors by using the key and it did open. The next day the same issue appeared for the passengers door too. The problem is still ongoing but after two days, when i started the car, the computer board was showing that the boot was opened but it wasn't. Also, the fob can successfully lock the doors. So the problem is that the doors unlock with the fob (or at least i think they do because i can hear the noise) but the outside handles don't work. Does anybody know what it causes this problem?

the door latches are electric with 3 little microswitches in them that can play up.
I've had the same problems you have, but not both doors at the same time.
If you said one door was not locking or unlocking I would say replace the door latch. never had 2 at the same time, though I have 2005 VW Golf (same latch setup) that I have replaced both front and one rear latch over the last 3 years. If you search these forums use the search tool top right, you will find numerous write ups from different models, including some guys who have pulled apart and replaced the microswitches. While the models are all a bit different, the actual mechanism is essentially the same so the discussions will be relevant.
If you do decide to replace them genuine are very, very expensive. I have used aftermarket successfully.
