Central locking constantly trying.... setting off alarm and annoying the neighbours
Hi
Im having an issues with the CL/Alarm in my 1999 A3 8l 1.8T.
The locks are constantly trying to lock/unlock (in no particular order) whenever the battery has life in it, repeatedly setting off the alarm until the battery on the car dies. The fob doesn't seem to operate the locks (although it did perfectly before this issue).
All locks are popping so i'm confused as to where the issue is. I have been told its probably the pump but wanted to check that out before I buy a new one.
If anyone has any info that would be great, or just how to disable the alarm as a final resort.
Cheers guys

Hi. Sounds like its definately the Central locking pump unit. Check to see if it's contaminated by water, it's located in the luggage compartment behind the side panel, drivers side.
