Default Central Locking not working - Need advice

2006 Audi A3 2.0T

My car all of a sudden won't lock via key fob or buttons inside the doors. When I lock or unlock using either method, I hear no noise whatsoever. I can lock/unlock by inserting the key into the door.

I was hoping it was maybe just the central locking pump, because it seemed fairly straightforward. However, everything I read about that issue made it seem as though I would hear the "whirring" but just not the locks engaging. I however hear dead silence.

Help!

P.S. There's also about 10 other issues with this car. Anyone wanna take a vacation to the Bluegrass state and do an overhaul? :'(

Hi. You wouldn't hear a whirring on this model as the central locking is electronic only and not vacuum operated. On the previous a3 the whirring was generated by the pump in the CDL unit.

Ok thank you. The issue seemed to resolve on it's own, but I will keep that in mind in case it happens again. :-)
