Deleting the resonator

Deleting the resonator
I'm in the process of getting(waiting)for a APR stage 2 tune,l installed their down pipe and a typhoon c.a.i . I know that my 11 a3 20k manuals clutch will fail so rather then spend 800+ for exhaust I'm using it for a stage 2 clutch. My tuner is where I got the idea to cut out the resonator. Has anyone tried it? Will it sound like crap. I never modded a 4 cyl.before .

I'd just leave the exhaust alone. It's actually a 2.66 inch diameter...and flows pretty well. Going to a full 3" exhaust from the turbo back is the only time you should be considering resonator or no.
Which kind of brings me to the whole stage 2.0 tune....don't you need a full 3" exhaust...at least first....before the stage 2 tune? doesn't that put an a lot of back pressure on your exhaust manifold and cause other problems? not to mention you won't get the HP and torque numbers they are specing......If you just want a louder car then you don't need to the stage 2 tune...and get the exhaust system first then...just saying.

So far all I've accomplished is a typhoon intake and the Apr downpipe..I don't want a loud car just a tune. I only asked if anyone tried cutting out the resonator You're the first person who said I needed a catback before the tune. Probobly will just hope it sounds decent. At least my z06 has a quiet mode. Thanks
