Should a 2015 Ford Fusion offer more than a 2015 Audi A3 for $9k less?

I am afraid that I must disagree. I think that some of the American cars are vastly superior options economically and are also much better driving machines than they ever were . I love our A3 - it is a great car, but I sold my A4 and bought a Buick Regal Turbo for a fraction of the cost (slightly used) and it compares very favorably to the A4. My brother-in-law has a new Fusion and I rode in it last week and thought it was very nice as well. German cars are wonderful to drive, but expensive to buy and maintain.

Comparing an Audi to a Ford is simply comparing apples and oranges. My girlfriend did that with a fully loaded Toyota RAV4 V6 to a Base Acura RDX. After driving it, she was clear that she wanted the RDX instead. She now drives an SQ5, but I am sure you understand. At the other end of the spectrum it's like comparing an RS7 to a CTS-V based purely on horsepower and that they have 4 doors. There is a reason why the cadillac costs half as much, and Cadillac and Audi are not competing. I am a visitor from the S8 forum... was just poking around as a friend just bought an A3.
