So my factory-ordered 1.8T A3 sedan came to me in Northern California on Tuesday after about an 11 week wait for the elves in Hungary to make it. (I'm cheap)

Anyway, I'm enjoying figuring it out, but I didn't expect that, when driving around solo, the orange "Passenger Airbag is off" light would be on ALL THE TIME -- and the manual indicates this is normal.

Is there a software hack to stop this, or shall I just stick a piece of electrical tape on my thirty five thousand dollar dashboard? Or wrap a brick in a garbage bag and stick it on the seat? Or something...

I despise this as well. However you will get used to it. I think it is stupid when you are alone in the car it is on. Who needs that? I suspect with the VAGCOM tool you should be able to turn the warning light off. I hope there is a fix as I will turn off this light. Having said that it's not the end of the world but it's close. Cheers.
