Default Tire Pressure Monitoring System

2009 A3 6 speed manual 2.0 T I got the yellow tyre warning about 3 weeks ago and it simply will not go away. Can you disable this?

I know this is obvious, but did you put some more air in your tires?

You deactivate the warning by inflating your tires to the proper pressure.

If the tires are properly inflated then maybe there's a problem with a sensor.

I sure hope you've already checked the pressure and aren't driving around on underinflated tires.

I have an 09 A3 and have the same issue. We have set the tire pressure correctly and the light will not go off. Tried clearing it with a VAG COM and couldn't do it. Taking it to dealer to have them take care of it. They said it should take about 20 minutes and it has been a common problem.

Default Just to cover all bases...

Assume you did the press-and-hold on the light itself? Or maybe is this more serious...

The system can be completely disabled, you must remove the fuse from the module, or if fuse runs multiple things you must disconnect module behind indtrument cluster. Then Code cluster for no TPMS, and unistall from gateway installation list. Voila no TPMS in any A3, or new TT.

Any idea where the module is located on 2009 A3's?

On my 2012 A3 there is no module. It is a passive system that works with the anti-lock brake system to calculate tire diameter and circumference. When the pressure changes the circumference changes. Otherwise the active system is located behind the glove box.

Maybe I am not understanding the issue but my experience has been that you re-set the pressures for the tire monitoring system in the on board computer. You don't actually input a number, just re-set the system to the current pressures. Pardon me if I am not understanding.
