I pity the Europeans
I can't even decide between our pathetic range of color choices in the U.S.
Today I skipped out of the office briefly (heh heh) to visit the local dealer and try to settle my mind once and for all on a color for my A3. They had several Lava Grays, apparently they always try to trade for that color because it's the most popular. It's been almost two months since the last time I saw the car in person, and I'm even more psyched about it now. Today was the first time it really looked like a small car to me, go figure.
Lava Gray is a great color, but man I just can't get Ocean Blue out of my head! It's so... sporty. It's so... fun looking! And with dark tinted windows? Droool. I think I may order one afterall and wait 3 (more) months for my baby and ultimate color satisfaction. ...or maybe I'll grab that Lava Gray and have it in a month!! Damn, if only I could decide :-/

Your dealer can also run a locate to see if your combo exists
among stock at other dealers and incoming inventory. The search can be as wide ranging as nationwide. Of course you'll have to pay for the extra shipping, but it may shave some serious time off the wait.

No, it is not. The PDI is paid by AoA in most if not all cases,
and unless a dealer claims to have PDI'd the car and then hasn't, the dealer doing the delivery should not have to do it again. However, our dealer always rePDI'd the basics, simply to make sure shipping spacers and other items were not forgotten.
