2009 A5 3.2 Engine Shaking

2009 A5 3.2 Engine Shaking
I have a 2009 A5 with a 3.2 engine @ 110k miles.
Upon a cold start, the engine shakes and stutters as if it is trying to stay alive. This occurs at start up, again when I put it in reverse the first time, and again when I put it in drive.
The shaking lasts about 5 seconds each, and during these 5 seconds, if I give it any throttle, the car shuts off. But after the first cold start, everything works fine.
The issue has been getting worse though. What might this be?

Sounds like it may be time for some carbon cleaning.
Search the subject. From my research, the best and most thorough carbon cleaning process is the walnut shell media blasting. There are threads on this on all of the forums - Audizine, A5OC and here.
