2009 A5 Adaptive Headlights too low
Greetings fellow A5 fanatics,
My 2009 A5 with adaptive xenon headlights (8Q5 = Headlight-range adjustment, automatic/ dynamic with dynamic bending light (AFS 1)) is awesome. Since I purchased the car in Dec. 2013, the lights have been aimed low. For a brief period earlier this year (Mar? Apr?), they were up where I would expect them to be, but now they're back down.
VCDS is 5 Harrisons. I imagine I'll end up spending half that at the stealership.
If I spring for the software, can I adjust them myself? Is there something else I should investigate before spending the cash?
Many thanks and kind regards,
Drew

One of the things you should research is how the headlights are aimed on your A5. Simply eyeballing them won't be good. For all you know, they might be off and you end up blinding cars around you.
You get get a used VCDS cable for 3 Harrisons or less.

At initial start-up you should see the cluster prompts telling you the self test passed.
At night while parked and when turning on the headlights you should visually see the headlights do it's brief up/down ranging check/test.
