Default 2010-2011 Audi S5 4.2L V8 Maintenance and Reliability

Hello all I'm new from NJ, sorry if this has been posted several times, I swear I tried to search.

Anyway in the market for a 2010-2011 audi s5 6spd. Most in the 42-46k range.
From anyone who has made it to 60k or past that what is the maintenance like. I've read things about carbon build up. Something with axles? Misfires.

I take very good care of my vechicles but can't hide from blatant errors from factories (my 06 g35 6spd had over 50 TSBs out on it including and engine and tranny replacement) so you can see my fear in purchasing without warranty.

Anyone have info on TSBs for the car, general thoughts getting to 60k from 40k. what to look for in a pre-owned.

Also can you purchase an audi extended warranty for an already expired car? probably not.....

Now for the fun stuff... thoughts on alcantara seat inserts? vs red leather deep sea pearl effect vs black

I know my post is jumbled...but I appreciate any help and thoughts. Thanks!

I'm also in the market for a S or RS5 2010 or newer. I prefer the 2013 model or new as I like the redesign of the headlights. I think it's much better look but If I found a killer S or RS5 2012 or older I'm not going to walk away just due to the front end design.

I would love to hear the answers to this threads questions.

I have a 2010 S5 V8 purchased in August 2009 so it's just over 6 years old and out of warranty for some time. I am currently siting at 78K miles and i have only had one problem in 6 years....ONE. i had a coil pack replaced around 40K miles. I actually blame myself for it. I had two very short start/stops moving the car around the driveway. The second start was rough and trigger the CEL. I didnt lose the coil pack but they replaced it anyway under warranty.

The car has been a solid rock. I also have a 2011 BMW X5 with similar miles and its in the shop all the time. For me my 2010 S5 has been the best car i could ever ask for. Drives awesome and extremely reliable. I even have the original battery! Would highly recommend this car for any future buyers.

For reference its first three years were in hot and humid Orlando and the last three to present have been in Santa Barbara CA where the roads are empty and weather is great. Environment hasn't mattered.

Good luck with your purchase
