In looking at the attachment, can anyone tell me what the vents and roman numeral I, II & III buttons do? Its in the ceiling control panel near the interior light controls. I've checked the manual and cant find any info on it. When I press each button, nothing happens aside from the tiny red light coming on.

I have had Homelink on all my cars since 1999. They can be programmed for many remote control devices, and with accessories can turn on house lights. Homelink is an industry standard not unique to Audi. There are lots of internet sources of information on it.
