The car above has the alu-optic window trims but it is surprising to see it wear the black optic front grille. I wonder if the dealership installed the window trims after-the-fact.

It looks like there is still a thin chrome strip around the grille. At least in the US, all A5s have a gloss black grille standard.

Yes, you are correct. I just configured a Misano Red A5 in the Audi US Website and the black grille with chrome trim is standard.

… I was really jazzed when I first got them because they were a novel combination. I must admit, after three years, I have grown tired of the dull and wish for just bit of reflectance. I even glazed the windows a darker grey so it is a somber mood.

The RS5, S4 and most recent S5 are offered below. Plus the one S5 with some brightwork in Glacier White. It all comes down to personal taste. The Misano Red is beautiful so you can't go wrong. Be real careful with the finish - red and black are so unforgiving with swirl marks. Try never to wipe the surface unless it is wet and move in straight lines - no circular motion as that invites light to catch all imperfections from any angle.
