Thanks for the huge amount of help. There just are not any sites for changing oil for Audi's. I dont know about you guys (or gals), but I cant afford to take my Q5 in every time, for simple maintenance like this. Again thanks for the help!

... an O-ring on the lower body of the filter housing ...
Where is this one? I found the thicker of the two rubber rings (the one with the tab) in the cap, but I don't see the other one.

Many thanks!

Default Thin o-ring for 3.2 engine and torque specs for oil change

The thinner one is on the engine still, on the part (a cylinder) that the oil filter housing screws down over. Get a flashlight; you will see a small, thin o-ring that wraps around it. Use a real small (almost midget) screwdriver or hook to remove the old one and oil the new gasket very lightly.

Torque oil filter housing or cover to 25Nm. I used a 36mm socket that I had for axle nuts. VERY nice!

Oil Drain Plug is torqued to 22 ft. lb. Always use a new (aluminum) washer.

Ben

Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer my question!
I did find the ring eventually, and the torque specs are handy.

Kind regards,
