This is only for the current generation carry over 2017 model. The next generation 2018 model that was recently introduced for early 2017 deliveries will offer a manual for the A5 only. The S5 is unfortunately automatic only at least for now.... and with that BOOOOOO Audi for offering only a slushbox!!!!

From your experience would you recommend the upgrade to the A5 or S5 for an all around everyday car, winter/summer. The A4 is my go to car, even in blizzards. But am willing to do the upgrade to get the MT.

Thanks again

I had a manual 2010 A5 and currently have a manual 2013 S5. Both cars have been my daily drivers and have done fantastically in the snow (I am on Long Island so we have similar winters). With the S5, it was delivered with summer tires and rather than swapping them out every winter, I immediately had all-season tires installed.

thanks, I swap out the oem tires for the Michelin all season. I just need to go and test drive and then run the numbers, I am sure I will love the car. so disappointed they are phasing out the MT even as an option, I just dont get it................. plus not sure I would even use the paddles or like them!

After 45 years of only having MT cars, I now have an S7. Love the transmission! If I feel lazy, just leave it in D and it figures it all out very nicely. If I want to have a bit of fun, put it in S and use the paddle shifters.

It is so much better in traffic.

For all of the MT purists, go dive 2 cars on a track; one with an MT and the other with a proper dual clutch transmission. I will bet you are seriously faster with the dual clutch. I have had the chance to do this with a 911 and a Boxster S. The difference is pretty amazing!

change is hard for us old folks. But I am convinced I will buy another Audi even without the MT.... The S7 is a rocket and a beauty, just too much car, and too nice to be taking it to the dump and loading it will all kinds of dirty equipment

If I am ever forced to ditch the third pedal, then I might as well go full autonomous
