Advanced Key--How many? Price of Additional?
Picking up my 2014 CPO A5 today and I was wondering how many Advanced Keys I should be expecting. Just one?
How much for a second?
The long version of it is that the dealer left the listing for "my car" on its website (the bank I used for financing is in a different state so they are mailing the check overnight--so i understand them leaving it up until they have the money). The problem is that they dropped the price a few hundred dollars. I want to go in today and negotiate for something to make up the difference. A second advance key might be worth it if we only get one.
Thanks!

You should be getting two advanced keys, an emergency key and an emergency key adapter that goes into the glove compartment.

Prior to signing the deal for my CPO A5, I got the dealer to include a 2nd key & the programming in the deal.
The car came with 2 when new, my question to them was where's the other one? They quickly agreed to include the 2nd one.
Unfortunately it meant a trip back to the dealer after the delivery 'cuz they dragged their feet on ordering the key.

Damn employees at dealers and auctions always swipe a key when they take a car in on trade, and immediately put it up on ebay for a quick $75. Then you have to buy a new custom cut key from the dealer for $350. I have bought many used cars, and once the deal is agreed, I sit down for the final paper work, I ask "show me 2 keys, 1 valet key, and all owners manuals". (also check that the spare is not a generic spare that doesn't even fit your car, I had that happen once).
Most of the time they cannot produce all these items, so I tell them that they did not disclose this up front, I negotiated in good faith that all these items were included, so they need to include replacements in the deal or give me $500 off. This always works, and you will get the keys or the extra discount. Never bring this up until you are ready to sign the deal, you want this to be a separate negotiation than the car purchase price.
