Default Audi Connect in A5

I have been trying my darnest to get the google maps to work. Subscribed to both Sirius & Audi Connect, check. Downloaded MMI app to phone-check. Followed step by step instructions from Audi Connect customer service - check. Reset the MMI per their instructions -check. Still not working. Phone app states A5 MMI App says MMI connection activated. Still no wifi bars & showing error message saying unable to connect. I noticed that both my Q7 & A5 are issued the same 8 digit pin #. Could that be the problem?

Start simple. There is no Google Maps in the MMI, I assume you are talking about the Google Earth satellite image overlay. The phone app is not required for that, nor is the PIN.

1. Do you have an active SIM in your MMI?

2. Do you get any signal bars in the lower right corner and does it say 3G.

3. Do you get those two arrows, one pointing left, the other one point right? These indicate that your data connection has been established.

I have had success using a freedompop sim in my car to get the data working. They have a free data tier that is only 200 MB per month, but that has actually been good enough.

1) Yes
2) No
3) No

Phone app says MMI is activated. We do live out in the boonies, but my Q7 or my Dodge dually do not have an issue and get wifi just fine.

Ok, so your A5 isn't even seeing a suitable network to connect to. Your Q7 uses AT&T for the carrier and your A5, given that it is a 2013 would be using T-Mobile. What carrier does your Dodge use? Do you know for certain that T-Mobile covers your area?

The Dodge ( Uconnect) uses Sprint.

Ok, so the first thing you'll have to do is confirm that T-Mobile actually reaches where you live. The next challenge is if you do get it working, because your A5 is a 2013 you may only get 2G speeds, unless the telephone module has been upgraded. The old telephone module in the 2013s doesn't support the new frequency bands that T-Mobile is moving their 3G network to one market at a time.
