Default Audi Pure Protection Extended Warranty

Has anyone in the US purchased the Audi Care Extended Warranty coverage for their 2014-2015 S5 Cabriolet? Its called Pure Protection and the underwritter is Fidelity Warranty Services.

I bought it for my S4. I purchased through FD-Warranty for about 60% of the price quoted by my local dealers. I bought a 5/100 platinum level policy just before I hit 25K miles so I am covered until earlier of Feb. 2019 or just under 125k miles.

I do not understand why the warranty kicks in right away. Most extended warranty's start after the manufacturer warranty expires. Is this the exact same thing that is offered by Audi? How much did you pay?

You can wait until you get closer to the end of the warranty to buy one for a shorter term but you end up in the same place. For example I could have purchased a 75k mile warranty when I got closer to 50k miles and still extend to 125k miles. The warranty prices increase as the cars accumulate miles, so a 75K mile warranty when the car has 50K miles isn't necessarily going to cost less than a 100K mile warranty when the car has 25k miles.

Mine cost a bit over $3K - maybe $3,200 don't remember exactly. Dealers quoted $5K+. It is the same exact warranty. Troy at FD Warranty is also easy to deal with and answered a bunch of questions for me. I think pricing is the same for 0-9,999 miles then increases for 10k - 24,999 miles with other brackets above that. To optimize price, it is best to buy as close to the end of the bracket as you can. For example, it was better for me to buy when I had 24,9xx miles than 10,001 miles because I paid the same but extended to 124,9xx miles rather than 110,001.

Has anyone had to use their warranty and any issues with this company?

Default Yes.

I didn’t read the entire thread but the title caught my eye. I’ve always been an extended warranty sceptic. I’m not anymore. I’ll try to be brief:
I bought my ‘18 S5 Coupe last April. She was just out of mfr. warranty, so the nice finance guy looked up extended warranties. He convincingly acted surprised at the high prices.
I just knew that if I don’t get some coverage I’d regret it. I can fix my ol’ 302/C4, but this Audi is like alien technology.
I paid $1,600 for a two-year powertrain service contract with MasterTech.

About 5 months later I was hit with the dreaded Rocker Tick of Death.

First, I had her transported to Audi North Houston (that place is awesome #Andrew #Derrick #Diego #Kevin). Only factory techs will touch this car. I assumed it would be drawn out wrestling match with MasterTech. They approved the repair at 100%, and Audi ate the $100 deductible. The shop rate on the contract is less than dealer, so there was some out of pocket.

The rocker bearing failure caused secondary damage, which mandated a new head, the nearest of which was in Germany.

I picked up my car 63 days $12,000 later.

Because I (gladly) chose the experts, there was $1,000 to me.

I can’t imagine what I would’ve done without coverage. I guess get some Audi tools and a manual?
