The fronts are a drop in, but the rears have different sockets. You can either get a suitable adapters, or cut off the old ones and put the new ones.

Fronts need new coding ... not sure about the rears.

Things get more complicated if you have a car without LED tails or headlights with a bend lighting (AFS) function.

I've just completed this on an RS-5 2011 FL, I'm not sure on the S5 but I think its the same and the coding i used was;

From VCDS
09, Central Electrics
16, Security Access
20113
10, Adaption
Channel 3
New value 26 ( From 9 )
( this info can be found here; A5 headlights facelift retrofit - Audi A5 Forum & Audi S5 Forum) credit going to JNV

This fixes the DRL dash errors and makes the headlight function correctly ie;
DRL on when headlights off
DRL off when headlights off and indicator on
DRL dimmed when headlights on
DRL dimmed when headlights on and indicator on

What Elberoth is saying aligns with my experience but the top cover ( Grill to Radiator ) is required, Parking sensor and Headlight mounts plus light ballasts if you don't have them and the factory bumper cover doesn't come with the Valance or bottom cover. Conversion of the AFS lights is still an issue though.

I got the DRL lights to run with this code - thank you! but I am getting a side light error. Do you know the code to that by any chance?
Thank you! The coding instructions to the link is no longer active.

Sorry if I'm reviving a dead thread but I'm interested in your work. I've done the rear lights and am looking at doing the front next. Did you have to make any modifications to fit the facelifted front bumper?? And the rear bumper too?? I ask because I was struck in the rear last year and Audi refused to put a facelifted rear bumper on the car saying the clips don't line up. I wanted a facelifted rear because of the superior diffuser range. Now I see you have popped it on no worries, I have a bit of hope!

Default Hey did you manage to find a parts list?

Hey did you manage to find a parts list?

Nice work!

Saw this threads some time back but man: please please PLEASE and please share the complete list of parts needed for a project like this?!!

Been looking over at audionlineparts for a loong while but dont really know which parts thats "new"/needed for the FL and wich I already have on the car that don't need to be swapped..

And as I'm 4 hours away from the nearest Audi I can't just go there to have a chat with them for 'intel' ;D[/QUOTE]
