Did all of you with AWE Touring also purchuse the downpipes? I'm debating skipping the dps and just buying the cat-back system to save $. Any comments?
Thanks

Hey, I sent you a PM on Audizine not too long ago. I'd be happy to advise you so that you get the sound solution you are looking for.

It all comes down to your preference, our downpipes refine the tone and volume of our system. We normally encourage those with DSG to consider the Resonated Downpipes to keep droning to the absolute minimum.

Thanks Mike. I just saw your PM sent Friday. Sorry I missed that.
Since there are a few in this thread with your system in place I thought I'd ask them about their dps.

Of course, and no worries! Just let me know if I can help.

I did not do the DP's. I would skip them, and see if you're happy with the system.

I'm only a week in with the system (so others are better to advise, they say it gets louder but no mention of drone) but I hear no drone. And I did come home, after install, on the N.Y. Thruway @ WOT/80mph with the windows down a bit, the radio off, HVAC off and sunroof tilted.

Besides, I believe they say you can add DP's later on, at the package price, within a year.

BTW, the tips are adjustable, and I've adjusted them inward to appear less aggressive. Really liking, now the 102mm black diamond tips. Once I get the CF valance, I'll post a photo.

Do you have a manual or DSG transmission? Apparently DSG are more prone to drone.

Try driving around like this.

I removed the bumper, to remove the valance and have it carbon fiber 5D wrapped or black matte painted. Still undecided.

Have search here and seen black matte painted on an S6 with 102 black tips and an A7 with carbon fiber & silver tips. Both look very nice.

Deval can take over a month to get. So looking at these options.

Will post photo when finally decided.

I've placed the bumper back on. I carbon fiber the valance. Not 100% happy as there are some small bubbles. But they are a work in progress. Otherwise, I prefer this to painting. Heat from tips are a non issue and tips are blending in.

Like the 102mm black tips as I'm blackening out most chrome and de-badging, with only the boot badged. Much prefer the sides of the S to show its curves and lines with the Vossens accentuating those lines.

Here are a couple photos:
