Default Buy S5 or RS5?

The RS5 has 35% more hp.
There is no discount for RS5 from the Audi Club. There is a 6% discount on S5.
thus, the RS5 costs 35% more.

RS5:
I like the crystal silver exterior, black sports exhaust option, the grill, the sound and the HP even though I have never driven one.

S5
I like the chestnut brown seat option which is not available on the RS5 (would get black ventillated seats).

The RS5 is $20k more. Is it worth it? How much will I get back on resale?

Best

When I bought my Audi my ONLY thoughts leading to what to buy were :

What do I really love about this car ?? I'm going to get exactly what my HEART tells me to order, not what is more of a value now or long term. With me, buying my first Audi was a love affair...........and it remains so even today. The car is sooooooo satisfying in every way that I just don't care about what all the investment stats say to do one way or another.

Bottom line...................
Buy want really turns you on and forget all the other stuff.
You won't regret it...........not for a minute !!

You need to test drive both.

I traded a 2012 S5 (V8) for a 2013 RS5. No comparison and worth the extra $.

Well, let me put it this way. I test drove an S5 and ordered an RS5 w/o test driving it on the same day and even did European Delivery. I'm not looking back. The high-revving V8 in the RS5 gives you a driving experience that can only be matched by the R8. The only reason to go for the S5 is if the RS5 doesn't agree with your financial situation.

Nothing beats a V8 - I went out and ordered a RS4 back in 07.

Found the only RS5 in Colorado and have a test drive scheduled for Thursday.

It is a 2013 with 20k miles. The dealership owners personal car.

Excellent! I am an S5 owner who wishes he spent the extra money for an RS5-- however I have never driven one. A test drive does wonders for clearing your head.

Given there are 20k miles you should not feel guilty pushing the RS5.

I had a 2011 S4, loved the car, supercharged V6, great engine. I traded it in for a 2014 RS5, I always liked the coupe better. The V8 another great engine, I just absolutely love this car.

Or if you want a manual transmission.
