The RS5 has the kind of engine that begs for the DSG and for the daily grind it makes the car that much more practical.
i guess i'm missing out because that was my sole purpose for the choosing the S5 over the RS5

For one thing you are missing out on the 6th generation Quattro system.

Since you seem to like the sport diff, imagine how it would change the car if you also had torque vectoring on the front axle that tucks in the nose while the sport diff rotates the tail.

means nothing to me without the third pedal.. I love manual transmission.. trust me.. if i could deal with an Auto i would have 1 RS5 instead of an S5 and an A5 (wife's) .. I was being a baby about dealing with an automatic and my wife refuses to go back to driving manual in traffic.. so two hard headed people ended up with 2 cars

as much as I like the RS5, I really do enjoy driving my S5 manual and sport diff. makes even the little trips around town fun.

That's the proper place for reverse, so you don't have to cross the whole gate to go into first after reversing. The transmission only lets you into reverse if you push down on the shifter. Why are you pushing down when shifting into first?
