What does this option give you? I did not order it because I was not sure what it did.

On the RS4 I have the sport button changed the throttle response and opened up flaps in the exhaust that deepened the sound.

What does this option do for the RS5? Is there a switch? or is it just a louder muffler with black exhaust tips?

Both the standard and the sport exhaust in the RS5 have flaps in the exhaust. They open at 3800 rpm or if you put Audi Drive Select in Dynamic. Starting with the 2014 RS5, the exhaust note can be controlled independently in Audi Drive Select. In the 2013 it's tied to the transmission. With the transmission in S, the flaps are open, otherwise they are closed below 3800 rpm. In the 2014/15, there's an Engine Sound option in ADS that controls the flaps.

The sport exhaust is a differently tuned exhaust. It's not louder in terms of dBA levels, but it has a different sound. It sounds more like an Italian sports car V8 whereas the standard exhaust sounds more like American muscle. The sport exhaust is one of the great options and really brings out the screaming V8, unless you plan to go aftermarket exhaust.
