Which to buy? 2009 S5 or 2010 A5 3.2
OK i can buy a 2009 S5 for about $6k grand more than a 3.2 2010 with same specs and features ( Bang and Olufsen, Nav, etc) and mileage (50K). The S5 has year of warranty left and 90 more horses.
Big Question is since I'm not prone to drag racing will the 3.2 give me all the performance I 'm used to in my 2007 A8 or will I be disappointed in the slight drop off?
Of course gas milage for A5 is a plus.
Lastly I love my A8L (third one) but looking for a little sportier ride. Will I be sorry I moved to the 5 series?
You thoughts and input appreciated.
Thanks

I had a 2009 A5 3.2, thought it was a nice car until I got my 2012 S5 with the V-8. No comparison, but then I traded the S5 for a 2013 RS5. Now that is a car!

I have just moved from a 2003 A8 4.0 V8 Diesel to an A5 2.0TFSi petrol quattro Sportback (5-door).
The A5 is just over 700lbs lighter and this is immediately reflected in the weight of the steering. It is a joy to drive compared to man-handling the A8.
My car has the standard suspension NOT the 20mm lower suspension of the S5 or S-line models. The back roads here in the UK are in pretty poor condition. I am sure that I could corner faster in a low-suspension model, but I am also sure that I would get tired more quickly by the less compliant and more jittery ride. Coming from an A8, which few other drivers on Audi forums have done (they are mainly moving up the Audi food chain), I am sure that I made the right decision.
The 3.2 is just a little heavier than the 2.0 turbo so should ride similarly. I would say that the performance is comparable to my previous A8 since the power-to-weight ratios are fairly similar. There is not a single passing maneuver that I cannot make that I could have made in the A8.
