flashing yellow check engine light
2010 S5 74k last 8 months check engine light comes on. taken to the dealership multiple times and everytime its been the sensor malfuction. few weeks ago the check engine light came on then i accelerated hard. then the engine light started blinking. then the engine light turned off. then today accelerated hard and again flashing engine light for about 4 or 5 seconds and turned off. Maybe coilpacks or spark plugs? but no misfire. just straight acceleration no hesitation just speed.
any ideas?

Could be a number of things, coil packs, plugs, MAF would be the first things I would suspect. Really need a scan and list of the stored codes to know anything specific.

Generally a flashing yellow light is a reason to stop the engine

As long as the engine light turns off or quits blinking (you can drive the car with reduced performance generally with the MIL on) you can safely drive the car but quit doing things that cause the light to turn on and blink until you get the issue fixed.
PS: You won't necessarily feel or detect misfire just because the ECU turns on the MIL and flashes.

Hello, I know this is an older post, but right now my 2009 Audi S5 is doing the same thing. I have a code reader and I was very surprised to see the amount of codes it has. The codes are as followed, P0A37- Generator Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance(2615), P0A38- Generator Temperature Sensor Circuit Low(2616), P061D- Internal Control Module Engine Air Mass Performance(1565), P0300- Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected(768), P0307- Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected(775), P0A4B- Generator Position Sensor Circuit(2635), P0367- Camshaft Pos. Sensor "B" Circ(Bank 1) Low Input(871), P06E9- Engine Starter Performance(1769), P0CBE Drive Motor "A" Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low(3262). Yes, a lot of codes. It is a big concern and I hope to get it fixed. I plan on changing the Coil Packs and Spark plugs, and then I am going to get the carbon build up common issue taking care of and I was thinking about replacing the Fuel injectors while I have the intake manifold off. Any thoughts on this? I was also thinking that all those other codes must be coming form one bad relay or fuse. If anyone could help, please feel free to weight in. Thanks
