Default S5 arrives any day, let the planning begin!

2009 S5 Meteor Grey Pearl, Magma Red & Carbon interior on its way! Transport is stuck in Flagstaff, AZ where they've gotten over 2 feet of snow in the last 72 hours and the highway is closed! Supposed to arrive on Sunday, but orig date was Thursday so I'm getting quite anxious.

Planned Updates:
Milltek exhuast (options TBD)
V1 Hardwire
Blizzak LM-25s on the stock 19s as winters
20's with spacers for summer rolling stock
Window Tint - Llumar 20%

I've already reserved a spot for a day of Ice driving at altitude (I'm in CO), got the LM-25s ordered (was lucky to find a set, as they are discontinued and replaced with the 60s which don't handle as well in dry conditions)

Previous ride was '04 A4 3.0 UltraSport.

Will post pix as soon as it actually is in my 'effing hands.

Looking for feedback on the Milltek options (resonated, non-resonated, cat removal, etc). Anyone do any intake mods to open up the breathing but not break warranty?

Milltek - get the resonated. I had this on my S4 and S4 Cab. Gives it a nice sound without being too loud.

Of course I prefer that if someone has a radar gun sitting on the seat next to them they do not hear me comming up and lift up that gun

As for the car - send them the Blizzaks and let them drive it over

DavidRS4 - do you get any "drone" at highway speeds with the resonated exhaust?

Default update

Car is here! Don't have any good pix yet, but it arrived last night and got it out for a quick spin. Got the LM-25s installed this AM. If anyone has the need for my (almost new) summer tires (Pirelli Zeros) LMK, going to post on Craigslist soon. They have under 2k miles on them.

I picked up the car with 1700 miles on it. We'll just call that nice and broken in ;-)

Default Congrats

Enjoy, she looks beautiful (I call my S5 a "she" because she's way too sexy to be male.)

Congrats! The car looks great.

When you get the Milltek exhaust installed please post some pics and sound clip if possible. I am considering getting the Milltek too, looking for something thats more aggressive than stock but still allows me to carry on a conversation and listen to the radio at a reasonable volume.

I never noticed it. Of course if I was at highway speeds I normally had the radio on and/or just listening to the exhaust ruble as I up and downshifted while shifting lanes

So a friend of mine has an RS4 and has the milltek non-resonated (downpipes too) and felt the resonated is as quiet as stock unless you are heavy on the gas. Now I'm a bit torn. I'm going to go listen to the RS4 and I'll grab some audio to share. Last time I drove it I didn't think it was outrageously loud, but man does it sound mean.

Stay tuned.
