Insurance Comapny giving me a re-manufactured wheel
I own a 2010 Audi S5 with around 75k on it. In great condition. A little over a month ago I got into a fender bender in a parking lot by some older lady. She backed up out of a parking spot while I was in the aisle, and her rear bumper went right into my right rear wheel, and minor damage to my bumper and right rear quarter panel.
She admitted fault and her insurance company is going to pay for my damage. But their estimate was different from my body shop I use by about $375. And the biggest reason is because the insurance company wrote out a re manufactured wheel instead of a new Audi wheel.
How should I handle this situation if I want their insurance company to cough up a new Audi wheel? I don't want to push my luck and have them screw me over somehow, but after all the lady did back up into my sports car, no fault here.

What if the re-man wheel is perfect?

Well I guess I'm a little uninformed about what exactly a re-manufactured wheel is. I spoke to my body shop guy and he said it's basically a real used Audi wheel, but has been "refurbished". So I guess he is saying it's a real Audi wheel. But I have a feeling it's some cheaper clone knock off.

No, it's typically a wheel that has been trued up and re-painted. The bigger players ususally do a very decent job repairing these.

Ok then I guess I wouldn't have much of a problem getting that done. As long as it looks good, because I'm selling this thing right when I get the work done and hopefully switch to an A6. I've been having bad luck of people driving into me with this car. The whole right side has been replaced already :/

That's a shame. Let's hope you can make the transition to a new vehicle with minimal hassle! Good luck.

You can demand OEM Audi parts. Just talk to the adjuster and say that since the car did not have a re-manufactured wheel on it prior to the loss, you want a new wheel. If your wheel was not repainted, they have to give you a non-repainted wheel.

I would work with my own insurance company to do the leg work
