Default Maintenance reminder.

Have had the car two months 1200 miles. Now every day I am getting a service reminder that I need a service in 22 days or 5000 miles. This seems strange. I wonder if it is thinking the car is 1 year old since it is a 2016?

Is there a shortened break in period?

Did you buy the car new, like brand new? Or, is it a dealer demo unit? I ask because the service reminder is based on when the car is assigned to an owner. If it was a year ago then the first service is due at 5000 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.

Car probably sat on the dealers lot for many months. Was moved around the lot and even test driven several times. Since it was never registered, it could be sold as new.

I agree with lmariorod. Your dealer probably had your new car for 8 to 9 months months and used as a demo before they sold it to you. That explains the 100 mi reading on the odo when you bought it.

What is the production date on the sticker on the driver' side door jamb?
