I just traded my RS5 in on a new 911 S. The RS was a great car, but it never really turned me on. Take care everyone.

The new 911 is quite a car. Be safe!

Good luck. I also have pangs for a Porsche- a Cayman in particular. They're rarer than S5's. Audi is making too many cars that look the same and slowly killing my love for my S5.

I test drove a Cayman S in February, then immediately placed an order. My car enters production on 4/11, supposed to land in Houston on 6/13 (but dealer claims most orders make it in about 2 weeks ahead of schedule).

Very nice - congrats.

I'm a big fan of the 991 - the interior in particular is leaps and bounds ahead of any previous 911.

Good choice! Porsche 911 is no substitution. I went to Audi S5 because cannot get a 911S.

i have an RS5 on order and am concerned that the car will not turn me on as well. What is it in particular that you are getting from the 911 that you are not getting from the RS? and for what you are getting with the 911 does it make up for the lack of exclusivety that you will lose as a 911 is a dime a dozen at least in this part of the country?

Well I went to the RS% from a 2008 Z06 and it just never cut it. Not a lot of low end torque and driving it just did not excite me. The 911 has a feel and sound all it's own and just feels better all around. As far as being exclusive, sure not a lot of RS5's and most do not know what they are or are capable of. The 911 is a head turner and a genuine sports car. The RS5 was boring to drive unless you really turned it loose, and even then no big deal.

^Sounds like misaligned expectations. The RS5 is a GT coupe, where as the 911 is a sports car. It comes down to what you are looking for, but the RS5 and 911 are in two different categories. The 911 base price is also way north of the RS5, so I sure hope that it shows.

Why didn't you keep the Z06 and just add the RS5 for everyday use..that is what I did...best of both worlds..in my opinion.
