You can't with your car. You have the older MMI, that doesn't start up on the screen you were on last. This was fixed with the newer MMI in '13s and newer.

It's really annoying but you'll have to learn to live with it. I believe Audi eliminated this problem in the facelift B8.5s.

In a similar vein, one of the most annoying aspects of this type of Audi behavior is that if the radio is off when you turn off the ignition, next time you start the car it will be on again! No way to prevent it.

I also have a 2012--you have to wait for it all to boot -- and wait -- and wait -- then go thru the entire process. It is a pain when you're in a hurry.
Mainly--I don't want to pay another $280 to update the maps--that come free with my iPhone! So I don't use it that often. Here in Miami/So Florida all the freeways have changed in the past 18-months and it's just totally wrong.
And DO NOT BUY SIRIUS TRAFFIC!!! It's always 3h behind reality. Totally not worth the extreme cost. When I had my 2004 A4 Cab it was XM Traffic--and that was better... now they've merged so we're stuck with the inferior Sirius versions... and weaker signals.

For more accurate traffic, you need accurate map data, otherwise the traffic data doesn't line up with the map anymore and incidents etc. won't be displayed or displayed in the wrong place.
