Any issues not using TPMS in a winter wheel/tires setup beyond the instrument cluster indicator light consistently being visible?

I've found some used Audi S4 rims that are the 18" 5-parallel-spoke S-design. The tires that mount to these are the same size as the OEM 18" tires for my A5. I think the only difference is the offset which is +29 for the OEM and +47 for the S4 wheels. I think these wheels are a direct fit. What will the different offset mean? Thanks.

'What will the different offset mean?'

18mm is a pretty big difference in ET/offset (I've read that a difference of 5mm is pretty negligible), so your new rims' outer edge would look like they are not out toward the edge of the wheel well/fender.

Some people use spacers (& longer lug bolts if needed) to push the rims back 'out' to the edge of the wheel well to make up the difference in rim ET/offset.

Is it even likely Audi makes an OEM S4 wheel with an ET47 offset? I spent considerable time trying locate the exact wheels online and only saw ET29 & ET31 for the 5 spoke parallel S design.

Agree. It sounds almost like a MB wheel

Well the seller of the S4 5 spoke parallel S design wheels informed me he got the ET47 offset right off the tire. Sucks as it seems a good deal even figuring shipping although I wasn't sure about the all weather Nokian tires.

So the search continues.

I found a Craigslist post for the Audi OEM 5 single spoke wheels mounted with Pirelli SottoZero winter tires at a decent price. The concern is the tires are 225/40R18 instead of 245/40R18. I understand wanting a narrower tire for winter driving but do not understand the negative implications of mounting the narrower tire on the OEM 8.5" rim except for curbing issues? Any input?

I just found this tool, which indicates a circumference & diameter difference, leading to a 2.5% speedo error. I'm considering a winter tire that narrow, but on a 17x7.5.

Been doing more investigating online and also talked to the parts department at the local Audi dealership and it would appear that S4 wheels with +47 offset fit the A5. Can anyone explain why A5s come equipped with mainly 29, 31 and 33mm offsets while basically the same model year A4s and S4s have OEM wheels with 43, 45 and 47mm offsets? Is anyone running A4 or S4 wheels on their A5?

2) if you don't mind more surfaces for brake dust.
