Default new alloys

Thinking about new wheels for my S5, doing the research and am considering 9.5X19 rear and 8.5X19 front, am sating with 19s so my original tyres fit.

Anyone else done this config? how did it go?

many thanks.

No real need to go with a staggered wheel setup. It actually will keep you from being able to rotate your tires.

Default Staggered fitment...

… is really a step backward with Quattro...

I would advise you not to put wider wheels on rear. Our cars have too much forward weight bias for this to be needed. I would not be surprised if the performance might actually be better with wider wheels on FRONT instead! ( No I am not advocating that :-) )

I wasn't going to mention it, but as we know, front-drivers are staggered to the front - man does that look weird ;-)

It it to allow the wheels to fill the arches equally (the rear sits 10mm or so further back in the arch)

Default Go to ECS Tuning and play the spacers game...

… Most of the year, I run 12mm up front and 7mm in the back on my RS5. Then I can rotate tires easily.

Happy Motoring

Going with 19x9.5 all round with spacers to fill the arches as necessary
The shop/fitting centre assure me they will not cause any issues.

Default Looks great...

With the big space between the "arms" on the wheel, you may wish to keep the inside of the wheel as clean as you can… here is what I use:

Griots Large wheel brush:

Bendable Wheel Brushes - Cleaning Tools - Wheels & Tires - Car Care - Griot's Garage

Good luck and stay away from the curbs ;-)
