I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this issue. The part number for the door sensor is 4G8927753A. I searched online, and found part number 4G8927753 - which fits the 2008 A5. I have a 2008 S5. I purchased the part, installed, and my door sensor didn't work.

1. Does the 'A' on the end of the part number really make a difference? If it fits an '08 A5 - shouldn't it also work on an '08 S5?

2. If the part number isn't the issue - is there a possibility that both door sensors went bad - and I also need to replace the passenger side door sensor?

I searched the forum to see if I could find an answer - but no luck. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I work for a parts supplier to VW.... the letters after the part number usually indicate a revision has been made to the part since it was initially released for production use.
