Ride Quality - 19s vs 20s wheels
Just purchased a 2014 RS5. Great car. Love it but ride is little firm for me. I have the optional 20 inch wheels. Wanted to ask for opinions on anyone that has driven on 19 inch wheels and whether the ride is much different. All perspectives and opinions are welcome.

Can't comment on the 19 inch wheels. I'm on 20s as well. What tire pressure are you running? Check the tire pressure section in the manual. You can lower it to normal load (up to 2 people) for a more comfortable ride. Another option is tires with a softer sidewall like the Conti DWS All-Season. The RS5 needs about 8000 miles before it is properly broken in and the suspension will settle in over that time and soften up a bit.

I just changed my RS5 from summer tires on 19" wheel to winter on 18". Definitely noticed a softer ride. The summer tires have over 20k on them and I think are close to replacement anyway. FWIW, with other threads here, I think I will stick with summer high performance and winter tires rather than go to an AS tire.

I previously owned a 13 Mitsu****ty Lancer on 16" rims (so pretty chunky tires) and the ride was **** compared to the A5 on 19"s lol (audi quality ftw) . but going up to a 20" rim i'm assuming you'd be at a 30 profile tire which leaves very very little rubber. so 19 would be ever so slightly better at 35 profile tire.
