Default RS5 owners - new intake available

Guys - Eventuri is coming out with an intake for the RS5 - I've been in contact with them over the past couple months. See below....19 whp gain. Group buy is on Audizine

So here is the video with the prototype Eventuri installed. Notice we have covered the red plastic to prevent it from getting soft (or worse) under the heat of the engine.

Here are a couple of the Dyno runs:

So with all runs complete we had a variety of figures with both stock and Eventuri - as you would expect, each run gave a slightly different result. We found that the first couple of runs gave a lower result, then then next couple gave a higher result on both configurations. This is expected as there is usually a degree of adaptation going on by the engine.

So the full set of results (there are a couple of runs missing from the list as they were either stopped short or didn't read correctly):

Runs 1-6 are with stock airbox
Runs 7-12 are with Eventuri

So now to be fair - we chose the best 2 runs with both configurations to do the final comparison. This is how we always publish our figures - we always allow the engine to make the best figure with the stock intake and then the best with the Eventuri.

We COULD HAVE deleted the best stock runs and showed the best Eventuri runs VS the WORST stock runs. It's not a lie but we believe this is not a fair representation - however, we know many other intake companies do this to show some sort of gain from their "cone on a tube" intakes.

Just for kicks - here is that graph which we could have used for the comparison - giving a difference of 33 WHP !!!

Now unfortunately the Torque graph didn't come out properly - they couldn't get a clean signal from the induction clamp for the rpm - so you can see spikes which mess up the results (this is also why the above graphs are shown with speed rather than rpm due to the issue they had with the rpm pickup):

You can still see the increased torque curves where they are not spiking over the stock:

We are very pleased with the results so far - once this is done in prepreg carbon, we expect the system to perform better as we have experienced with our other systems. The CF is more rigid and better at heat insulation than the 3D printed parts used in our prototyping.

The gains we have seen is a combination of a smooth cold air feed to the filters and more importantly from our unique filter housing concept. This design is completely different to the usual "cone filter on a tube" and as such we have invested in getting it patented.

To take the comment of one forum member on the thread - we actually have "reinvented" the intake.

I will make a video to explain the concept - but here is a summary:

Basically we have reversed the cone filter and the housing design smoothly channels the airflow to the tubes - the smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow naturally accelerates.

Hope that's enough to chew on for now!
