Blank instrument cluster...any of you have this issue? What might be the fix?

Thanks

Other than the obvious bad fuse, I can't begin to think of what may cause that.

Hi, Tanin Auto Electronix here. We are vendors on the site. We repair instrument clusters and also sell replacement parts like LCD screens.

What year is your S5?

Dealer wants it for a day to do a "Reboot" to the system. The tech is thinking this may be enough to bring it back to life. If it needs replaced I'm guessing its a bit pricey?

Tanin Auto...what would be your thought/suggestion?

Ok, let's trouble shoot a bit. Don't mind the questions. I just don't want to assume from photo alone.

Is your vehicle able to start? is the center screen only black or the entire cluster? Do the gauges work or nothing works? What does work, and what doesn't work?

Yes, it starts and runs and all else works as it normally would.
Everything works except the center (2'x4"ish) digital panel.
For a week or two this area went off and on then it then it went blank full time.
Yes, the top digital panel is still working.
I do get a loud beep ~30-40 seconds after starting and then moving the car.

Not sure what VCDS codes are? What are you asking?

VCDS is diagnostic software for Volkswagen Auto Group cars. It's usually step 1 in diagnosing problems. I'm sure your dealer used the factory scan tool but i'd be curious to know what fault codes you have.
