Default s5 steering

Hello everyone..
My 09 s5 just went over 100k and decided to act up. my steering creeks and now feels loose. dealer wants $2500 to replace my rack, also need rear brakes and battery replacement.
Any info would be appreciated.
would like to purchase vag tool so i can perform repairs and program new battery. lots of different ones for sale and not sure which will do the job.
I have owned my s5 for 3 years. love it.. I just need to slow down,,lol

Thanks.

I would say if your S5 has 100k miles it is time to invest the money in replacements. Amortize that over 3 years and it won't be so hard to take.
