Tips, Advice, and Information for the S5
Hey mates!
I'm very likely to purchase the 2015 Audi S5 Coupe, but would like to ask some questions. Is there a difference from the 2013-2016 S5s? Do some have advantages that others don't? Updated interiors? Exteriors? Software? Also, should I get the manual or automatic? I've test drove the 2016 one, and it was fast as FU**. I've yet to try it manual, but would like to know, DOES THE MANUAL OFFER LAUNCH CONTROL? Some dealer actually said no, and some said yes. It dawns me how some dealers don't even know about their own cars lol. Anyways, has anyone ever achieved the 4.5 0-60 time that some reviewers claim they get? Especially in a manual? I heard the DCT is way faster than the manual, but at the same time, I want to have some fun and feel engaged.
I go on long trips, would the manual be annoying after several hours? I've driven them before, but never ever for road trips. Also, has anyone done any modification that got their car less than 4.5 seconds from 0-60? I kinda want the Porsche Cayman 981 S which can go from 0-60 in 4.2 , but Audi has always been my thing.
Anyone have tips and advice for purchasing a 2015 Audi? I've seen one not too long ago at a dealership who was offering a staggering 44,000$ for a 2015 Audi S5 with only 12,000 miles. Is that a good *** deal or can I go even lower? Any tips on negotiating? Anything I should know about the car? Should I purchase the maintenance warranty? Thank you so much guys, for reading and hopefully replying with some valuable information .

Manual does NOT have launch control. I had a 2015 S5, with MT that I regularly took on long (+1000 mile) trips with no issue. The dual clutch gearbox is much faster on a track than a manual. Only you can decide which you really want.

I have a manual and enjoy the connection to driving. It is true that the DCT is easier to make the quoted 0 to 60 time because all you do is mash the pedal. I think the manual is actually a bit slower and would take a lot more skill than I have to do a max accel, so never have tried.
As far as long trips, that is where the manual is really no different than DCT. It is if you spend a bunch of time in traffic that I would consider whether I want a manual.
As noted in the previous post, it is really a personal decision on which tranny to get. Both have advantages...

Sounds like a decent deal with only 12k miles. You should check KBB or Edmunds for the going rate. Actually sounds about right.
