Hi,

I've an A5 Sportback, registered Jan 17. It came supplied with an AMI adaptor cable for iphone. Ever since new, the cable has constantly cut out both charging and music playback functions to the point where I just don't use it. I've tried it with 4 different iphones (iphone 6, 6S and 7 plus) with the same problems. Yesterday Audi provided me with another cable and although the problem is better, it still loses connectivity when one track ends and the next finishes. Any suggestions??

1. Do you the latest/newest MMI firmware in use?
I had mine updated over a year ago and it was still the original (2008) firmware and I was about 5 firmware updates behind.
2. Have a VCDS scan to see if there's anything that may point towards this.
3. There are plenty of iphone AMI cables out there that look completely identical. You need to use one that is specifically designed for your MMI type. IE: 2G, 3G, 3G+, 3G High, etc etc
