Being talked out of buying the 2015 S5
#12
I had 2011 S4, loved the car, but I now have the RS5, I always wanted the 5 series coupe, but the S4 was more practical for a younger family at that time. Visually there is no comparison, RS5/S5 wins hands down.

I could not agree more...we all have our own personal tastes and needs. And in choosing between an S4 and S5 we are literally talking about the same engine and drivetrain so the issue comes down to the pros and cons between a four door and two door.

There is no choice - S5 6MT or bust.
Previous posts indicate why one might choose the S4.
Don't be like your friend, better him/her by getting the S5.
I'm 6'4" (36" inseam) and even with a helmet on, I have no issues with headroom in my S5 with the sunroof.

Just bought the s5, traded in the s4
I just gave up my 2012 s4 - the lease was up and I really loved the car. It's practical hauls ***, eats tires, loved the 7 speed dual clutch, sport diff, the B$O stereo is awesome, and the car is special to you and Audi owners.
I got the same options and set up with a '14 S5 Coupe and it hauls *** and is just as special. The coupe is less practical for every day use if you haul things and others around. The improved mmi is better with Bluetooth audio and streaming Pandora is cool.
At high freeway speeds the S5 coupe with it's shorter wheelbase tends to dart more and rides more sporty than the sedan. The V6 in the coupe is much better than the V8 I drive years ago- it's the same drive train as the S4.
I would have leased another S4 but I didn't want to drive the same car when within a year or so the new 4 series is coming out. I haven't owned a coupe.
Insurance costs are higher with a coupe too.
Both cars give you comments- that's a bad *** car!
If this is your first S Audi and you are going to drive others around, You can get a better deal on a sedan and have the same awesome experience.
But what gets your ya ya's going? Its what makes you happy- get either one!

Not true about the S4 more comfy than the S5. The S5 handles better because it is a wider car than the S4. I could drive 5 -6 hours on my S5 without getting tired - just a fun drive as the best cruising coupe out there for long long drives. The S4 is a narrow and taller car and does not handle anywhere like the S5. The S5 is both comfy and handles better than the S4.
