Default E-Code Installation DIY

Erm yea, I remember some guy claiming it's a 3-screw removal process, that turned out to be pretty bogus. After removing the center plastic sheath and unscrewing all apparent screws visible form the top, the headlamp unit is still not removable.

There seems to be something else attached to it from beneath (out of view). I tugged, but not hard for fear of breaking a clip or anything. Anyone, have any ideas or urls to guide me through this?

I figured out how to get the daylight running light going etc., I just need to swap the headlamps out to get this mod taken care of! Thanks!

Default I think that 3 screw thing referred to just pulling the unit out, and not removing the lamp

I pulled mine out with someone who had done this with other Audis and we didn't manage to figure out how to do it either. I'm interested in this topic also.

I'm interested in this as well. When you figure it out, make a how-to with pictures

Default are you talking about removing the entire assembly from the car?

it takes no more than 5 minutes and is 3 screws....

if you are talking about removing the inside projectors of the headlamps, like i believe roswell is reffering too, im pretty sure its impossible

Default (3) torx screws, but you do have to remove the top plastic shielding over the grill to gain

access to the upper inside torx screws. I've taken mine in and out a few times. Sometimes the clip on the harness can be fun.

Default My instructions are not "bogus." There are only 3 torx bolts

...having done this myself twice, it really IS that easy. Only a guess, but maybe you are not removing/loosening the one on the back (bottom) since it is pretty tucked away under a wire connector???

Check the post below again and make sure you are removing the right bolts. I've circled them in the pictures for your reference.

A5/S5 headlamp removal

That harness clip is a PITA. Stubborn and tight (oops, this is not AWOT!)

I was referring to lamp unit removal, not the housing itself, that was easy.

Default I received lame units, awaiting oempl.us to resolve the issue

The actual housing units came used w/ broken clips.

There were nicks on the outside and inside housing of the passenger side.

Driver's side was missing the D3s main beam bulb

The 2 ballast modules for each side were missing

Ordered adaptive, but received non-adaptive.

Can you say nightmare purchase? Already relayed all this to oempl.us and I hope they make things right within a timely manner.
