Just got a 2012 A5 Premium Plus from Carmax with 25K miles on it, so I think it has 25K left on the warranty. I've heard about the extended warranty. How do I get it and should I get it? Are A5's reliable if well maintained?

The '12 A5 has the 2.0T that has been known for oil consumption issues.

Since this is a MY '12, you may not have much warranty remaining as you will be close to the 4 years (particularly if the car was bought in 2011) although not the 50K miles. It's one or the other, 4 yrs/50K.

I'd get the car over to an Audi dealership and get its history and ask about extended warranties there. Ideally, checking its history before purchase or even purchasing a CPO at dealership would have been the preferred route.

My 13 had issues with the nav. Twice. And the auxiliary fan kept coming on even when I'd turn the radio on in a garaged cold car. Took them weeks to figure that one out. Simply replaced the ecu.
