Strut mounts squeaking ??
Hey all, a little background. I have a 2011 A5 with 35k on it. I put coilovers, SPC adjustable control arms and 034 strut mounts on it. When the car hits any road imperfection at low speeds or if I bounce the front of the car up and down I get a rubber creaking/squeaking sound.
I am pretty sure its the rubber strut mount rubbing on the body and the coil spring as when Im bouncing the front end I can grab the top of the mount and listen and it seems like that's where it's coming from...hard to tell for sure though since it's such a confined space and the sound can tend to echo.
Has anyone had this problem? I had it with the stock strut mounts as well, which is why I switched to the more dense 034 mounts. Still squeaks. I have cleaned the mounts and even put some bearing grease on them but it was of no help. I'm thinking of trying some kind of this buffer between the rubber mounts and the body but I'm not sure what to use.
So anyone have this issue and any luck fixing it? Any idea on what I could user in between the mount and the body so they aren't rubbing against each other?
Thanks in advance for any help.
