Default '18 A5 SB Sunroof Photo

I haven't seem many pix of a 2018 A5 SB with a sunroof, so I'm posting one up.

I have personally seen a number of '18 SBs here in Germany, but none with a sunroof for some reason. Not sure if it just isn't something many want here or if there is another reason like that it isn't an option.

They market it as a panoramic sunroof . I don't see how that is panoramic

I do too - it does nothing for the looks.

We have one on my wife's MINI and use it less than 1% of the time we're in it. The one exception for our summer trips into the Alps.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I love the larger sunroof, though it could still be bigger. I like that they made the body work in front of the panel black to match as well.

The tiny moonroof on the A4, A6, and A7 is truly disappointing to me. I would classify the A5/S5 roof as adequate for my tastes.

I like that the roof actually opens in the 2018 model instead of just tilting as well, though I'd give it up any ability to open for a much larger, completely glass roof.

On my A3 I can see from inside it doesn't seem like its a panorama roof, but you can tell from the outside as the whole thing slides back so it looks pretty cool. One thing I do wish was they made the rest of the roof black, it looks kind of weird to me as my car is white that 3/4s of it is black from the sun roof and a small section is white.

It is seldom ordered in Europe because:
  1. It is an expensive option
  2. It adds weight in the worst possible place
I would have ordered the carbon fibre roof, that is coming on the RS5, if it had been available, as it reduces weight in the best possible place

I agree - this is why I am considering on potentially getting the little roof there is wrapped with black 3M film.

That makes so much sense, actually. I never thought of that.
