Default RS5 Appears

Audi have shown the new B9 RS5 at Geneva. The 2.9 TT V6 is making 444hp and 600Nm of torque. Tiptronic (ZF8HP) transmission. 0-100kmh 3.9 seconds, so 0-60mph ~ 3.7 seconds. 60kph lighter than previous model, carbon ceramic brakes an option. So much as expected.

The car looks great, however, no manual transmission option is very, very disappointing.

I hear ya but since the lack of manual in the previous RS5 has now filtered down to the B9 S5 as well, it's not surprising. That said, I have not been thrilled with the A5 and S5 versions of the B9 with both the exterior and interior styling. But the extra 'oomph' both stylistically and in horsepower of the RS5 really transforms the car and would maybe make me consider trading in my 13 S5 for it if I can let go of driving a manual

Also DRC is available as an option, although this may not come to NA as it has been regarded as too extreme for that market in recent times. A carbon roof will also be available.

With DRC, stiffer MLB Evo platform, reduced weight, lower centre of gravity, etc etc, this car should handle really well.

Audi Germany have just put up an information section on their website with plenty of details. In German of course, but you can always auto-translate using a browser such as Chrome...

Surprised they eliminated the dual clutch tranny. I like the way mine shifts.

Largely as expected. The transmission choice is disappointing given its direct competitors the M4 and C63 don't have torque converters. The chassis might make up for some of this, but I'll have to see. Hoping Audi on Demand will have one soon in their fleet, so I can take it out for day in the canyons to see if this or the C63 S will replace my current RS5.

Looking good! I'd also prefer a sportback version though. It will most certainly come soon.
