Default Boost leak troubleshooting......some hints...

After all of my boost leaks over the years with stock hoses, it is quite certain that besides system boost, engine movement plays a key role in boost leak development.

90% of all the leaks have clearly shown a ripped rubber hose at any place on system. The very last leak occured next to the DV's hose clamp.

If you are familiar with your TBB then you'll know that it has a tendency to crack on the very bottom. The same happened with other hoses throughout the system: each and every one was cracked on the bottom of the hose.

It is safe to assume that the engine movement under acceleration and deceleration created a force which supported this effect.

Of course, pressure testing is the prefered way, but w/o a tester I would recommend to look for the not so obvious - the bottom of each hose.
Usually if you can get your hands under the hose then you'll feel the crack.

If somehow possible then try to lift up the hose because some of these cracks are slightly hidden under the clamp and a little stretching will show them.

Just thought to share this since I keep running into boost leak issues ;-)
...and yes, I know, it's time for Samco's....
