2.7T auto: problem with reverse
#41
I Have a 01 allroad P.O.S.! I got the car cheap @ 140 k miles . one of my costly repairs was and still is the Tranny. I was getting the TC problem code. I noticed slipping while on the highway one day had just did a bunch of engine work. took it in spent 3,800 to have the whole tranny rebuilt with new TC..... A few weeks ago i went to back out the driveway and what do i know? NO reverse now! Im loosing my cool with this car. Its under warranty for what was done but i got a feeling i wont have to pay for labor but think i will be stuck with paying for what ever parts that wer not done the first time. All this after replacing both water pumps , timing belt, AC compressor, outer tie rods, o2 sensors, tires , brakes, battery, headlights , mirror switch , washer tank, and the rear two Air suspension bags. I am and was thinking i would have a new Audi for a third of the cost. But DANG! COME ON!

I have this same problem. I have a 2001 allroad 2.7t auto. Would the auto trans from a 2001 s4 work? Found a used one with 70K. The allroad trannys all have higher miles and are more expensive. Thanks!

huh? you asked about using replacement parts from an S4, not sure where you stated anything about an A6. Therefore, what I replied with was specific to parts you would need from the S4 to make things work in your AR.

2001 Allroad with no reverse....
I noticed that someone in this thread mentioned the Neutral safety switch. How likely is that the culprit? It will sometimes go in reverse slowly as stated but rev when the gas is pressed. What exactly does the neutral safety switch control?

yep you are right! i have the same aluminum pieces in my pan and my opinion is audi should be responsible for calling it a sealed unit. what do they expect will happen when the filters are never changed
